DroneWerks FAQs: We use unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) that can capture images & footage from different unique angles. Below are some of the frequently asked questions about shooting aerial video & photos using drones. Does the weather affect flying?
Yes. Aerial video is affected by the weather, so flexibility is required when scheduling a booking with us. For example we cannot fly in rain or when it’s too windy. Aerial video looks better when shooting when its a nice day.
What equipment do you use?

Dronewerks Media currently use the latest DJI products for capturing aerial footage and high resolution photos. Our capture solutions employs the DJI Inspire & Phantom 4 quad-copters. These systems utilize the latest technology and can be controllde by a single or dual operator and utilizes a up to24MP camera plus, It’s very quick to deploy and launch, and can produce stunning images in 4K, 2.7K and 1080 HD resolutions.

Are you licensed and qualified?

Yes. Dronewerks Media holds a 333 Exemption to operate UAVs for commercial use conducting aerial photography, videography, cinematography and inspection services for the real estate, motion picture, television and web industries. (333 exemption documentation available upon request)

What are the advantages of using Drones versus using manned helicopters?

UAVs do have have multiple advantages over video that is shot from manned helicopters. UAVs are much more cost effective in terms of crew & production time required. In addition, our UAV systems can take off straight up from a small area and hover in place up to 400 feet high. UAVs can also allow for some unique shooting possibilities such as flying low over water and closely around buildings and other large structures.

Can you shoot indoors?

Yes. We can shoot in larger indoor areas after a preliminary safety inspection of the area to be flown in and have permission from the owner of the building or structure.

Can you give me an example of pricing?
  • Basic UAV service: $125/hr (Professional UAV service including a UAV pilot, aircraft, and all required ground station equipment, liability insurance)
  • Simple Real Estate Package: $425 (8 exterior stills edited, cropped & color corrected, plus a 60 second video clip)
  • Deluxe Real Estate Package: $650 (Package includes all exterior & interior features with video, graphics and still photos highlighting the properties features in a 2-3 min video)
  • Marine Aerial Photos: $325 (8 stills edited, cropped & color corrected)
  • Structure & Building Inspections: *$375 (shooting large properties depends on square footage of building or structure)
  • Additional Crew: $45/hr (second UAV pilot or spotter, ground crew personnel, as required)
  • Minimum Charge: 2Hrs (total time per service call and includes all travel time to/from location. To the nearest half hour thereafter)
  • Post Production: $75/Hour min.1hr (Photoshop, video editing, image enhancement, cropping, ortho-mosaic output, etc.)
  • $1,000,000 Dollar Drone liability insurance policy will be included on all UAV/drone flights. (Copy of certificate upon request) At Dronewerks Media, we always want to give you the best possible pricing. Our actual rates & prices may fluctuate or could be lower than listed above based on the actual job type.
